Speech by Lanre Ojutalayo during JAN's 15th Anniversary Celebration.

My Name Lanre Ojutalayo - I am going to tell you about the Venture in Management Program. It is a one week intensive mini MBA session to introduce fresh graduates who are members of the National youth serve corps to the different facets of managing businesses, making crucial business decisions and developing skills for management.
The program is run by JAN in collaboration with LBS and Accenture and this year was sponsored by the ACA Foundation. I got involved when I saw an advert in the papers and applied. I was lucky to be shortlisted from 142 candidates and made it to the final 50 participants. The interview process was very tough to ensure that the calibre of students on the program were high and made me see what a real life interview would be like when I start interviewing for jobs.
During the programme I was involved in working on business case studies and rigorous management classroom tutorials facilitated by professors from Lagos Business School, Accenture and African Capital Alliance. Topics included Business ethics, general management, accountability and leadership strategy.
