VIMP 2016 Participant Miss. Damilola Banjo: The Story behind her Philanthropic Act

I had to do something about it. Bearing in mind that I might not be able to reach every child who needs a better school kit or classroom,  I still believed it was better to do little than to do nothing. I went ahead to share my intentions with my Local Government Inspector who advised i focus on one school. Having searched through some parts of the city, I decided to adopt Army Day Primary School II. There was a heavy downpour of rain the first day I visited the school, and the pupils in the kindergarten were perched on their chairs and tables because their classroom flooded due to the leaking roof. The Head teacher's office was not exempt, as she had bowls lined up to retain the heavy downpour ...

Image
Last week, JAN Associate Director Mr. Harrison Ozuruonye, and Programs Officer Mr. Titilade Adeniran traveled to Maidugruri and Yola State respectively to do a hands on assessment of IDP camps to asses their needs. We've all witnessed the tragedy inflicted on these regions by Boko Haram and we believe we can play a vital role in enabling our Northern family rebuild their lives. The situation on ground is not completely hopeless, but there is still alot of work that needs to be done. The Nigerian military and Aid relief agencies are working very hard and we applaud their efforts and sacrifice. JAN would like to give these afflicted people access to our free programs and impart them with skills and an education nobody can take away from them. Donate, volunteer and support our efforts to impact these regions and other regions across Nigeria. If you think your community could benefit from JA Nigeria programs, please contact us www.ja-nigeria,org #IDP #Community #JANCa...
