JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT NIGERIA WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY EVENT
The world environmental day was established by the United
Nations General Assembly to mark the opening of the 1972 Stockholm conference.
The purpose of this day is to celebrate achievements made towards protecting
the environment. By doing this, we remind ourselves and others the importance
of caring for our environment.
Caring for the environment invariably means caring for our
health, our finances, the society and the future generation. It brings about an improved lifestyle, world
peace and more importantly, it is fun.
With the support of Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation
(HSBC), Junior Achievement Nigeria will be celebrating THE World Environmental
Day tagged “Think Eat Save” to present the various aspects of environmental
entrepreneurship to all stakeholders especially Children & Youth in the
country.
The events session would be in three phases;
Session one will be a lecture on “Think Eat Save” which
would educate the students on being financially discipline on food purchases
i.e. how to buy the right food at cheaper prices. – (Financial literacy)
Session Two will be a documentary on Environmental
Entrepreneurs in Nigeria then there will be a lecture on “Waste to Wealth”
which would enlighten the students on how they could make money protecting the
environment. – (Entrepreneurship)
Session three will be a lecture on choosing a career path in
helping the environment which would familiarize the students with careers that
involve protecting the environment. – (Work readiness)
There would be an exhibition of EEP student’s product at the
event and they would also have a session to explain how and why they came about
the products.
