DMTP PLANT TOUR AT THE ASEJIRE PLANT, IBADAN

DMTP-Defining My Tomorrow Project is sponsored by NBC (Nigerian Bottling Company) in partnership with Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) which is centered on providing   150 secondary school students from government schools the opportunity to learn about the various career options open to them and encourage them to develop interest about their career choice. Beyond this overarching objective is the need to inspire these children to begin to dream big and become change agents, in spite of the many challenges they face.   It includes a plant tour event which enables the students to have a hands-on experience on what the workplace entails. It is always a very interesting and wonderful experience for the students Two(2) DMTP events have been held in 2 different locations in Nigeria. The first was in Enugu with schools from within Enugu city. 150 students were selected to attend the career day, which was held as a one- day event on Friday, 24 th May 2013 at the Ivory hall of Dannic Hot

2nd Edition of STEM WINNERS!!!!!!!!!!

The students were divided into 14 teams and they all presented very innovative and mind-blowing ideas. Congratulations to all students who participated in the STEM event on the 20 th of November 2013. They are all winners. Successful 2nd Edition of the Stem Innovation Camp

The 2 nd Edition of the STEM(Science Technology Engineering and Maths) Innovation camp national competition organized by Junior Achievement Nigeria and Blackberry which held in Abuja on the 20 th of November 2013 was a successful and interesting event. The students were very creative in thinking and the volunteers were exceptional in mentoring the students. The students were given a business challenge: (Mobile Computing is a large part of day to day life.  Our Smartphones enable us to communicate with friends and family, do business, enjoy media, take photos, and make payments and much more.  As a team think innovatively about what else you might be able to use mobile computing for, what other service or solution might a mobile device be used for?) which they created a communication and sales plan in support of their innovative idea and then presented their business plan to a panel of judges. VIE 2013, WHAT AN EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE WORKSHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The just concluded Venture in Enterprise (VIE) 2013 workshop organized by Junior Achievement Nigeria in partnership with EDC held at the Pan Atlantic University, Ahmed Onibudo Street, Victoria Island, Lagos was a mind blowing and interesting workshop. The workshop is definitely one that would still remain in the minds of the participants for a very long time. The workshop kicked off on the 11 th of November 2013 and concluded with a graduation ceremony on the 16 th of November 2013. Some Highlights of the workshop include; CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) event where the participants visited a secondary school to teach the students on the theme “INTEGRITY AND FAMILY VALUES”. There was a lot of the Interactive Session. Some courses treated include: “Crafting strategy that works”, “Health issues”, “Business Etiquette” and “Career Development”. 2nd Edition of STEM Innovation Camp

The Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Innovation Camp is an initiative developed through a partnership between Research in Motion (RIM) Blackberry and Junior Achievement Young Enterprise Europe – Europe’s largest provider of entrepreneurship education programmes. Nine JA-YE organizations from Italy, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Indonesia, India and United Kingdom are organizing the 2nd edition of STEM Innovation Camps.   The STEM Innovation Camp helps raise awareness amongst secondary school students aged 15-18, of STEM related issues, showcases excellent role models for the industry from Blackberry and leads the way to showing that skills-based CSR programs have a vital role to play in the future of education and aligning business needs with curriculums. The STEM Innovation Camp is a 12-h camp where students - with access to tools, experts and resources - come together in mixed teams and learn about how to generate and shape ideas

VIE, formerly Venture in Enterprise and Management (VIEMP) is a specially designed program offered by JA Nigeria to expose youth corps members to the responsibilities, opportunities and demands of a career in Enterprise and Management. The goal of the program is to train and empower youth corps members to assume their roles in the business world as managers and purpose-driven entrepreneurs Junior Achievement of Nigeria (JA Nigeria), a non-profit educational organization in partnership with Chevron Nigeria Limited, Pan-African University (EDC) and Accenture has concluded plans to host this year’s Venture in Enterprise (VIE). The weeklong program will include rigorous and stimulating classroom meetings (led by Enterprise Development Centre faculty), case studies, panel discussions, study groups, guest speakers and recreation, culminating in a strategy workshop, during which the participants will present solutions to different business problems.
