The world environmental day was established by the United Nations General Assembly to mark the opening of the 1972 Stockholm conference. The purpose of this day is to celebrate achievements made towards protecting the environment. By doing this, we remind ourselves and others the importance of caring for our environment. Caring for the environment invariably means caring for our health, our finances, the society and the future generation.   It brings about an improved lifestyle, world peace and more importantly, it is fun. Students are encouraged to use innovative thinking to learn money – management skills that support positive attitudes as they explore and enhance their career aspirations. The Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Innovation Camp is an initiative developed through a partnership between Research in Motion (RIM) Blackberry and Junior Achievement Young Enterprise Europe – Europe’s largest provider of entrepreneurship education programmes. The STEM Innovation Camp helps raise awareness amongst secondary school students aged 15-18, of STEM related issues, showcases excellent role models for the industry from Blackberry and leads the way to showing that skills-based CSR programs have a vital role to play in the future of education and aligning business needs with curriculums. The STEM Innovation Camp is a 12-h camp where students - with access to tools, experts and resources - come together in mixed teams and learn about how to generate and shape ideas within a short deadline. 70 students aged 15-18 from 14 secondary schools in the Lagos area will be in attendance to present innovative solutions to a complex challenge.
