JA BE ENTREPRENEURIAL Junior Achievement Nigeria (JA Nigeria) is poised to empower more Senior Secondary School students across in Lagos with the knowledge necessary to start an entrepreneurial venture while still in high school. MASTERCARD AND JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT NIGERIA PARTNER TO GIVE NIGERIAN YOUTHS ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING

  For the second year in a row, MasterCard is supporting Junior Achievement Nigeria (JA Nigeria) to reach more girls with entrepreneurship and financial literacy training to build the business skills of the girls through the Girls Enterprise Program (GEP). The goal of the program is to provide young girls with additional educational opportunities to learn about business, economics and free enterprise. The GEP is an adapted Company Program of JA Nigeria for young girls between the ages of 14 and 18 from disadvantage backgrounds in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. The program will run for a period of 12 months during which entrepreneurship skills, work readiness, financial literacy and life skills will be administered. The grant from MasterCard will enable JA Nigeria to enhance her traditional entrepreneurship training with business mentoring that will help the participants to establish viable startup companies within a year of completing the program.
